President Joe Biden has put in place a climate plan to achieve 100% clean electricity generation in the U.S. by 2035. The administration plans to invest a massive $2 trillion over four years to promote renewable energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Putting environmental issues high on its agenda, the United States also rejoined the Paris climate agreement this year.
The U.S. clean energy market is primarily dominated by the West Coast. According to U.S. Metro Clean Tech Index 2021 ranking, six of the top 10 cities for this market are in this region: San José, San Francisco, Sacramento and Los Angeles in California; Portland in Oregon; and Seattle in Washington.
