Montréal, January 28, 2016 ‒ The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal would like to congratulate the members of the new Cabinet presented this morning by Québec Premier Philippe Couillard. The metropolitan area will have strong representation, with 17 of the 29 Cabinet ministers.
“Maintaining a strong representation of Greater Montréal in Cabinet sends a clear signal about the city’s importance to the province’s economy,” said Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal. “The city is facing many challenges, and the Montréal business community expects the government to make economic development and improving the business environment priorities.”
“The Board of Trade would particularly like to congratulate Montréal MNAs Dominique Anglade and Rita de Santis on their Cabinet positions,” Michel Leblanc said. “Their knowledge of the city is most definitely an asset. We should also note the appointment of Martin Coiteux as Minister of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy and Minister responsible for the Montréal region. He was highly effective during his time with the Conseil du trésor. The Board of Trade would further like to thank Robert Poëti for the role he played in Transport and in defending Montréal’s interests.”
