Overview of the benefits of the city’s universities: the update of the study conducted in 2016 highlights the increasingly essential economic contribution of these institutions through:
- their contribution to the prosperity of the knowledge society through the creation and transmission of knowledge
- their key role in responding to the growing need for manpower and productivity gains
- the economic benefits generated by the large student population, especially international students, as well as university spending, particularly on research and development
About the study
The contribution of universities in the Greater Montréal area to the Quebec economy is an exclusive study completed by the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal in partnership with nine of the city’s universities.
