Montréal, June 3, 2015 – The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal and BMO are very proud to have received two Awards of Excellence yesterday from the Quebec public relations body, the Société québécoise des professionnels en relations publiques (SQPRP), for I see mtl.
This initiative, put together by the two organizations last fall, won Gold in the “event” category for Tactical Awards of Excellence, and Platinum in the “general public relations program” for Strategic Excellence Awards.
“These awards are the result of a tremendous effort from a solid team of many contributors,” said Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal. “On November 17, the city saw just how big the I see mtl event was. Our team was witness to an important moment in the history of the Board of Trade. This success is the result of tireless efforts and a public relations plan developed under the leadership of Marie-Pier Veilleux, the Board of Trade’s Director, Strategic Forums, International Leaders, and Special Projects, and Sévrine Labelle, its Vice-President, Strategy and Public Affairs. In just a few months, we managed to establish a credible brand image people could get behind. We also owe these awards to the Montrealers who joined the adventure and who showed us that they care just as much as we do about their city’s revitalization.”
“I would like to congratulate everyone who contributed to the success of this major citizen movement both in terms of the event and in terms of communications and in particular thank the project manager, Félix-Antoine Joli-Coeur, and Diane De Courcy as well as the 180 leaders who presented mobilizing projects, which are on their way to being realized,” said L. Jacques Ménard, Chairman of BMO Financial Group, Quebec. “We have now moved into the je fais mtl phase with the support of Diane De Courcy and the administration of Mayor Coderre who are showing tremendous leadership to ensure the projects, which will help restore the city’s vitality, are monitored and are successful.”
The Board of Trade and BMO would like to thank all the partners who were part of the success of I see mtl: Gérald Fillion, Valérie Pisano, f. & co, the Musée d’art contemporain, Orange Tango, Parce que films, the Place des Arts, TP1, Turbine, and the many financial and media partners.
