Press Release
The Prix Arts-Affaires de Montréal are underway!
Montréal, August 28, 2008 The Prix Arts-Affaires de Montréal are back again for a new edition this year, reflecting the Rendez-vous November 2007 Montréal, cultural metropolis action plan. The two co-presidents of the Honourary Committee, Isabelle Hudon, President and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, and Louise Roy, Chair of the Conseil des arts de Montréal, invite cultural and arts organizations to take part in great numbers.
The Prix Arts-Affaires de Montréal seek nominations from Greater Montréal arts and cultural organizations that have received support from a large enterprise, SME, or individual from the business milieu between September 1, 2007 and August 31, 2008.
Organizations have until September 29, 2008 to nominate enterprises and individuals who play a leading role in supporting arts and culture, and whose commitment deserves to be rewarded. Information about the competition, along with rules and a registration form are available on the following Websites: www.btmm.qc.ca/prix_arts_affaires and www.artsmontreal.org/prixartsaffaires.php?lang=en.
Montréal has all it needs to be a true cultural metropolis of international calibre, and I am convinced that the support of the business milieu is essential to give it the means to realize its ambitions. The more that businesses actively support arts and culture, the more we will see our local creative artists extend their reach abroad, thereby putting Montréal in the spotlight. It is always a great pleasure to see businesses of all sizes demonstrate their creativity and inventiveness to find their own ways of contributing to stimulating our cultural resources, stated Isabelle Hudon.
Louise Roy, Chair of the Conseil des arts de Montréal, added: With each edition, the Prix Arts-Affaires allow us to highlight the quality and importance of the partnerships that are forged between the business sphere and the arts. Individuals and enterprises from the private sector that get involved in arts and culture contribute to their vitality and their creative strength; their commitment also bears witness to their dynamism and their desire to take part in the development of our society. These people and businesses have this in common: vision and passion. By acknowledging the quality of their contribution, we hope that these awards can serve as an inspiration for other callings and new collaborations.
