Québec-China Mission 2011
The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montréal supports Québec SMEs
in their efforts to export to China

Montréal, August 28, 2011 – The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montréal and its team of international trade experts at the World Trade Centre Montréal are pleased to take part in the 2011 Québec-China Mission, led by Québec Premier Jean Charest. This mission, taking place from August 28 to September 2, will allow its 70 participants to make their way to the cities of Beijing and Shanghai, among others.

“China presents highly promising growth opportunities for our local businesses, and this mission will provide them with an opportunity to take advantage of this tremendous business platform. In this capacity, the Board of Trade is pleased to accompany 11 SMEs in their efforts to penetrate the Chinese market or to strengthen their presence within it by organizing some 100 business meetings with potential partners,” stated Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Board of Trade.

“It is essential for the Board of Trade and its team of international trade experts to enable local SMEs to build solid ties with the Chinese business community. As part of this mission, we are therefore enthusiastically supporting the marketing efforts of several prosperous Québec companies operating in the fields of aeronautics (Norduyn), information technology and multimedia (Absolunet, Utopia Image), consumer goods (Birks & Mayors, Immanence IDC, Kaufmann de Suisse, Mega Brands), construction (360 Vox, Entropal, Soprema), and the environment (Mesar/Environair),” added Michel Leblanc.

“This mission, made possible by the Government of Québec, through a partnership with the Québec Government Office in Shanghai and the Québec Government Office in Beijing, should allow a large number of Québec companies to sign agreements and advance several projects already underway in China. The Board of Trade is therefore proud to be a part of it, and congratulates the government on this initiative,” concluded Michel Leblanc.

Through its team of experts at the World Trade Centre Montréal, the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal provides international trade services to the greater business community, with the support of Canada Economic Development.
