2012 Québec-India mission
The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal supports
Québec SMEs’ business development efforts in India
Montréal, January 27, 2012 – The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal and its team of international trade experts, the World Trade Centre Montréal, are proud to be taking part in the 2012 Québec-India mission, led by Québec’s Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr. Yves Bolduc, which will take place from January 27 to February 4. This initiative of the Government of Québec will allow over 45 participants from the business, research, science, and technology milieus to begin their exporting efforts, in Mumbai, Bangalore, and New Delhi, among others.
“Over the last few years, India has shown a rhythm of economic growth that makes it a key destination for Québec SMEs seeking to target new markets, particularly in the field of health care and life sciences. Given the many business opportunities India has to offer, the Board of Trade is pleased to benefit from Minister Bolduc’s leadership as part of this mission, and to accompany 15 local companies and institutions that want to penetrate the Indian market or strengthen their position within it,” stated Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal.
“The Board of Trade and its team of international trade experts believe the skills, products and services of Québec SMEs need to be showcased on the Indian market. This is why we are proud to support the exporting efforts of prosperous companies operating in such varied sectors as health care, aeronautics, green energy, and information technology, and to assist them throughout the mission,” continued Michel Leblanc.
“This mission, organized in collaboration with the Department of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade and its Export-Québec unit, the Department of International Relations, the Québec Government Office in Mumbai, MEDEC, and Investissement Québec, will allow local businesses to build lasting relationships with Indian companies. The Board of Trade is therefore proud to be involved and to take part in a fourth trade mission on this market,” concluded Michel Leblanc.
Through its team of experts at the World Trade Centre Montréal, the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal provides international trade services to the greater business community, with the support of Canada Economic Development.
