The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal launches
the Montréal Arts and Business portal in partnership with TP1 Internet 360
Montréal, December 2, 2008 The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, in collaboration with TPI Internet 360 , proudly announces the launch of its new Web site: www.montrealartsandbusiness.org. This portal aims to create bridges and promote partnerships between cultural organizations, artists, and business people in the greater metropolitan area. The launch took place during the presentation of the Prix Arts-Affaires de Montréal in the wake of the first anniversary of Rendez-vous November 2007 Montréal, cultural metropolis.
This new portal was designed as much for business people as for those in the artistic community, presenting valuable resources for both sectors. Cultural organizations will find links to private funding sources, training programs, and volunteers, while business people from both SMEs and large enterprises wishing to support Montréal culture and the arts through funding or volunteer work will learn how to go about it and the tax benefits available to them. In addition, an electronic bulletin board will provide a place for cultural organizations to highlight their needs and for companies to post their offers.
This new site aims to be a highly practical reference tool designed to meet a need identified by representatives of both the cultural and the business communities. Artists and entrepreneurs will now have a one-stop-solution for finding valuable information and promoting links between these two worlds. We hope that, with this new space placed at their disposal, organizations in the cultural community and in the private sector will find it easier to make contacts and develop partnerships leading to the development of exciting projects for the metropolis, declared Roger Plamondon, acting president and CEO of the Board of Trade.
TPI Internet 360 is pleased to partner with the Board of Trade in creating and building this new portal, which we hope will encourage companies to explore the many ways they can support culture and the arts. Since TPI was a winner of the Prix Arts-Affaires de Montréal (sponsored in 2007 by the Pont Bridge theatre in the SME category), we are a good example of the fact that, whatever a company's size, it can always find ways to contribute to artists and cultural organizations whose projects it cares about, declared Jan-Nicolas Vanderveken, a partner at TP1.
The Montréal Arts and Business site is available in French and English at the following address: www.montrealartsandbusiness.org
