The Board of Trade congratulates new Cabinet members
Montréal, September 19, 2012 – The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal congratulates the 23 new Cabinet members appointed today by Québec Premier Pauline Marois.
“During the last electoral campaign, we pointed to the importance of the metropolitan area fulfilling its role as the economic driver of Québec,” said Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal. “We intend to work with the Premier and the members of her Cabinet to ensure that the city remains a creator of wealth that is attractive to investors.”
“The Parti Québécois took part in the debate organized by the Board of Trade about the four challenges to the economic development of the Montréal metropolitan area,” Mr. Leblanc said. “We are convinced that this new government will see to it that implementing strategies to improve the business environment, modernizing the public transit network, increasing the pool of qualified labour and reviewing excessive governance in Montréal are a priority for the Cabinet. After all, when the city does well, all of Québec does well.”
