The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal officially
inaugurates its new premises
Montreal, January 30, 2004 For over a year, the Board of Trade has been updating its operations, thus becoming the largest private organization dedicated to the economic development of Quebec. By consolidating its subsidiaries Info entreprises, the Electronic Commerce Institute and the World Trade Centre Montréal into service branches, the Board of Trade has diversified its expertise in the fields of information on financing programs and business start-ups, e-business and international trade.
To house everyone under one roof, the organization had to move to larger premises, and today, the Board of Trade is holding an open house to officially inaugurate its new offices at 380 St. Antoine Steet West, 6th floor.
This event will allow visitors and municipal, cultural, university and business figures in the metropolitan area to get a first-hand look at the new synergy and vitality of the organization's more than 100 employees and to better understand the invaluable complementary roles the Board of Trade and its service branches play.
The Board of Trade would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Info entreprises on its 10th anniversary, as well as the Electronic Commerce Institute and World Trade Centre Montréal, which are celebrating, respectively, 15 and 20 years in operation. Indeed, various activities will be held throughout the year to highlight these anniversaries, which confirm the relevance of the services these branches offer and attest to the fact that over the years, they have managed to adapt to new business realities and offer services increasingly attuned to their clients' needs.
The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal has some 7,000 members. Its primary mission is to represent the interests of the business community of the Greater Montreal region and, as a contributing and responsible player, to promote the economic development of the urban area. Encompassing three specialized services (Info entreprises, the Electronic Commerce Institute and World Trade Centre Montréal) that serve merchants and businesses of all sizes throughout Quebec and Canada, the Board of Trade is Quebec's leading private economic development organization.
