2004-2005 season of public activities

Montreal, September 7, 2004 – The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal has announced its public activities for the 2004-2005 season. The Board of Trade's primary objective is to promote the economic development of the metropolitan area and the establishment of optimal conditions for creating new wealth and realizing the full potential of the companies and initiatives of its members. It is from this perspective that guest speakers at the Board of Trade's public forums address its members as well as those of the metropolitan Montreal business community.

During the 2004-2005 season, the ten speakers in the Board of Trade's “Desjardins” business luncheon series will share with participants their vision of the economic development of metropolitan Montreal, the economic engine of Quebec . The speakers will also explain how their sector of activity will contribute to this vision. This prestigious Board of Trade forum has built an excellent reputation over the past several years.

The following public activities have also been added to the 2004-2005 schedule of events:

The “RBC Financial Group” special business luncheons are one-time events, where players on the municipal, provincial, and federal political scenes present their vision of the development of metropolitan Montreal . These special business luncheons are produced in collaboration with  RSM Richter and TELUS.

The “Alcan” Hot issues@lunch events present topical issues of burning interest for in-depth discussion. These events are produced in collaboration with  Aéroports de Montréal , Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, CN, Dessau-Soprin and Sun Life Financial . The first confirmed Hot issues@lunch :
