Montreal, January 24, 2001 - In association with the Conseil régional de développement de l'île de Montréal (CRDÎM), the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal is pleased to present a unique event geared to Montreal entrepreneurs. To be held on February 21 at the Hilton Montréal Bonaventure, Mission Entrepreneurship is an extraordinary event that will bring together a broad spectrum of Montreal experts in entrepreneurship, and offer entrepreneurs in all stages of development-from start-up to expansion-access to comprehensive and relevant information. On this occasion, entrepreneurs will also have the opportunity to meet with businesspeople ready to share their experiences. The Board of Trade and CRDÎM would like to thank their partners and the ministère des Affaires municipales et de la Métropole for supporting this project. As well, the individuals involved in entrepreneurship at the following organizations were essential to the organization of this event: Service d'aide aux jeunes entrepreneurs du Québec (SAJE), Carrefour jeunesse-emploi, Société de développement économique (SODEC - RDP-PAT), Centre d'entreprises et d'innovation de Montréal, Fondation du maire de Montréal pour la jeunesse, Info entrepreneurs, Centre d'entrepreneurship HEC-Poly-UdeM, Montreal Junior Chamber of Commerce, CÉGEP André-Laurendeau and Réseau Financier Montréal. The day will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a breakfast meeting during which Cora Tsouflidou, president of Restaurants Chez Cora, will explain how her idea for a restaurant snack bar translated into a flourishing enterprise with branches throughout Quebec and soon in the United States. | A press briefing at 9:00 a.m. will mark the official start of the day with, among others, Normand Legault, president of the Board of Trade and Pierrre Desrochers, president of CRDÎM in attendance. From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., participants will be invited to follow a thematic course organized in the form of legs in a race that will allow them to exchange with advisors and experienced entrepreneurs. These "legs" will deal with such varied subjects as corporate financing, exports, e-commerce, manufacturing production, retail business and the social economy. At noon, Mission Entrepreneurship will welcome Claude Lemay, president of Alis Technologies, during a business luncheon. Mr. Lemay will speak about his company's experience and how having an entrepreneurial spirit is key for anyone at the helm. The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal has more than 7 000 members. Its mission is to be the leading group representing the interests of the Greater Montreal business community. The objectives are to maintain, at all times, relevance to its membership, credibility towards the media and influence towards government and decision-makers. |
