ISABELLE HUDON RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF
CANADA'S TOP 40 UNDER 40 LEADERS
Montreal, May 2, 2006 Isabelle Hudon, president and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, has been named a 2005 Recipient of Canada's Top 40 Under 40 Award, a program that honours Canadians who have become leaders in their field before reaching age 40. She is part of this annually compiled prestigious list of Canada's best and brightest.
Isabelle Hudon is remarkable in every sense of the word and one of our most respected leaders. On behalf of the board of directors and the entire Board of Trade team, we are extremely proud to see her abilities recognized and honoured beyond our organization, across the country. Isabelle Hudon's sense of leadership, boldness, enthusiasm, vision and strategic skills are just some of her outstanding qualities, affirmed Marie-Claude Lalande, chair of the board of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, and assistant vice-president and senior counsel, Sun Life Financial.
We are all delighted to see Isabelle Hudon receive this prestigious nomination because it recognizes the merit of her work not only as head of our organization, but also as one of Montreal's most fervent ambassadors. It is this very commitment that has made it possible for the Board of Trade to get involved and take concrete actions to stimulate the economic, social, cultural and environmental development of Greater Montreal. This same commitment also explains why the Board of Trade is always moving forward and innovating while remaining active and credible for its members. This honour by Canada's Top 40 Under 40 is also a tribute to the some eighty colleagues who support her daily in her function. I congratulate this initiative, continued Marie-Claude Lalande.
Isabelle Hudon has been at the helm of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal since February 2005. She is the first woman to hold this position since the organization's inception nearly two centuries ago. Before assuming the leadership of the Board of Trade, Isabelle Hudon was Communications director; vice-president, Strategies and Communications; and executive vice-president. Isabelle Hudon has worked more than 17 years in public affairs, communications and strategic positioning.
Since its creation by The Caldwell Partners International in 1995, Canada's Top 40 Under 40 has honoured more than 440 leaders who have set themselves apart by their leadership skills, innovation, achievements, community involvement and influence acquired over the years.
The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal has some 7,000 members. Its mission is to represent the interests of the business community of Greater Montreal and to provide individuals, merchants and businesses of all sizes with a variety of specialized services to help them achieve their full potential in terms of innovation, productivity and competitiveness.
