Montreal, May 17, 2001 - Normand Legault, president of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, is pleased to announce the appointment of Benoit Labonté as the Board of Trade's executive vice-president. Mr. Labonté is to replace Luc Lacharité, who will step down from this position in July to join the CGI Group. Mr. Labonté will assume his new duties on July 16.
Mr. Labonté has served as president and CEO of the World Trade Centre Montréal (WTC Montréal) since 1996. In addition to his new duties as executive vice-president of the Board of Trade, he will continue to serve as president of the WTC Montréal.
Mr. Labonté brings to the Board of Trade his vast experience in organizational management and the export market. He also holds a master's degree in political science. As president and CEO of the World Trade Centre Montréal, he helped position that organization as a major player in the export market. | "The WTC Montréal is the international arm of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal.
