Montréal, June 19, 2013 ‒ The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal is pleased to underline the appointment of Yves Lalumière as President and CEO of Tourisme Montréal.
“The appeal and prosperity of the metropolitan area depend in large part on a quality tourism offering,” says Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal. “In recent weeks, the city has been recognized as the leading destination for international conferences. The Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada, the Festival international de Jazz de Montréal, the Just for Laughs Festival and other major events are part of the metropolitan area’s unique signature.”
“We are confident that given Mr. Lalumière’s expertise in tourism, he will be able to consolidate and develop our exclusive tourism offering,” Mr. Leblanc says. “He can count on the Board of Trade’s full cooperation in promoting the metropolitan area’s undeniable assets.”
“We would like to thank the outgoing President and CEO, the Honourable Charles Lapointe, who, since 1989, has made a major contribution to energizing the city’s tourism industry,” Michel Leblanc says. “His dedication and passion must continue to inspire us to make the city a tourist destination that’s not to be missed.”
