National consultation tour on entrepreneurship
The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal
salutes the initiative of the Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade
Montréal, October 15, 2010 – The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal and its team of experts in entrepreneurship – Info entrepreneurs – salute the initiative of the Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade, Clément Gignac, who today announced the launch of a national consultation tour on entrepreneurship.
“The Board of Trade and its Info entrepreneurs service have spent more than 15 years trying to make the mission of our entrepreneurs a little easier,” said Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal. “And yet, in spite of the many individual successes, our overall performance in entrepreneurship remains weak: all indicators show that we have to organize better to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit, support those who take the plunge, and celebrate success. We are thrilled with Mr. Gignac’s initiative, which should lead to a real Quebec strategy for entrepreneurship based on the real needs of businesses.”
This initiative comes at an important moment, when entrepreneurs are confronted with uncertain economic conditions. “The Board of Trade has just launched the infoentrepreneurs-montreal.org site, developed in cooperation with the CRÉ de Montréal, with the goal of facilitating access to resources designed to support small business. Starting on Monday, we will be celebrating Small Business Week 2010, intended to promote entrepreneurship in Quebec and pay homage to home-grown entrepreneurs. Mr. Gignac’s initiative further shines the spotlight on the importance of strengthening support mechanisms for local entrepreneurs,” said Mr. Leblanc.
