Creation of PRAM:
An initiative reconciling economic development and urban quality
Montréal, Wednesday, October 10, 2007 The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal welcomes today's announcement of the creation of the Programme pour la réussite des affaires à Montréal (PRAM).
In implementing this program, the City of Montréal will provide valuable support to the contributions of businesses and industries to the economic success of Montréal. Indeed PRAM will help to reconcile what we believe are two very important complementary objectives: the economic development of Montréal and its quality of life and place. On the one hand, this program will provide entrepreneurs with the tools needed to facilitate investment in the metropolis; on the other hand, it will stimulate private projects contributing to the beautification and improvement of Montréal's urban fabric, thereby consolidating Montréal's position as a city of design, renowned for its appeal, creativity, and economic vitality, declared Isabelle Hudon, president and CEO of the Board of Trade.
One of PRAM's biggest attractions is that it is a concrete initiative with spin-offs that are likely to be both tangible and visible. Insofar as the program is implemented efficiently and is accessible to entrepreneurs, we believe it will be an excellent means for involving private players in Montréal's success, concluded Hudon.
The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal has some 7,000 members. Its mission is to represent the interests of the business community of Greater Montréal and to provide individuals, merchants and businesses of all sizes with a variety of specialized services to help them achieve their full potential in terms of innovation, productivity and competitiveness. The Board of Trade is the largest private organization in Quebec dedicated to economic development.
