Montréal, November 9, 2016 – Following its annual meeting held today, the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal is pleased to announce the nomination of Pierre Pomerleau, President and CEO of Pomerleau Inc., as chair of its board for 2016-2017. Mr. Pomerleau, who was first vice-chair of the board last year, succeeds Martine Turcotte, Vice Chair, Québec, at Bell.
“I am honoured to have the trust of the members of the nominating committee and the board of directors,” said Pierre Pomerleau, the new chair of the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal. “I am proud to accept the chairmanship of the Chamber for 2016-2017. During the past year, I have been impressed and excited by all of the Chamber’s efforts. I intend to throw my energy into meeting your needs and completing the mandates entrusted to me.”
As chair for 2016-2017, and then as retiring chair of the board the following year, Mr. Pomerleau will play a strategic role in the Chamber’s senior management and will be a regular presence at activities. During this period, he will also sit on the Chamber’s executive committee.
President of Pomerleau Inc. since 1997, Pierre Pomerleau is at the helm of companies that specialize in building construction, civil engineering projects, wind farms and architectural cabinet work across the country. Since taking the reins of the company, he has given it a new business vision, and the group is pursuing its growth.
Pierre Pomerleau is a member of a number of associations, including the World Presidents’ Organization and the Cercle des présidents du Québec, and sits on boards of directors for businesses and charities.
