Throughout the year, the Chamber is asked to take a position on many issues that affect the city’s economy. For example, since January alone, the Chamber has produced 12 briefs, published 7 open letters and given over 140 interviews.
The Chamber’s research and analysis team has a variety of tools to keep up with coming trends, build expertise, and take the pulse of the business community. One of these tools is our strategic committees.
These committees are made up of Chamber members from all the city’s activity sectors. They meet about four times a year to discuss various topics related to current economic issues. The vast expertise of its members helps enrich the Chamber’s insights.
These committees are also a platform to let members express the business community’s concerns about Montréal’s economic development to the Chamber and its team and discuss the issues that affect them. The Chamber has three active strategic committees:
- International business
- Metropolitan and urban business
- Economics and public finances
