Montréal, October 19, 2022 – The Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal held its annual general meeting today with members, partners, and guests in attendance. Anik Trudel, CEO of Lavery, was appointed as the Chamber’s Chair of the Board for 2022-2023. She takes over from Pierre Laporte, President of Deloitte Québec and Vice-Chair of Deloitte Canada.
“I am pleased to have been appointed Chair of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal,” said Anik Trudel, Chair of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal. “Supporting businesses and representing the interest of the city’s business community are essential missions to ensure the development of Greater Montréal. As Chair, I am honoured to continue a tradition of 200 years of mobilization by the Montréal business community, and I hope to be able to pursue this important work for the city’s vitality.”
Anik Trudel is CEO of Lavery and has over 30 years of experience in professional firms. A lawyer by training, she began her career at a major Canadian and international firm, where she worked as a partner and practiced commercial litigation for 20 years.
Ms. Trudel then worked for 10 years in public relations, where she successively held positions of general manager of Edelman in Montréal and senior vice-president and general manager of Citoyen Optimum, part of the group Vision7.
She has been a member of many boards of directors of organizations in business, cultural, and charitable settings, including the Port of Montreal, Evol, the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation, the Fondation Espace pour la vie, the Fondation du Musée d'art contemporain and the Compagnie Marie Chouinard. Anik Trudel is also a certified coach in neurolinguistic programing (NLP).
She is a regular speaker, particularly on the topic of women in leadership.
As Chair of the Board for 2022-2023, then as Retiring Chair of the Board the following year, Ms. Trudel will play a strategic role with the senior management of the Chamber and provide a regular presence at activities. During this period, she will also sit on the Chamber’s executive committee.
