Montréal, October 24, 2018 – Following its annual meeting held today, the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal is pleased to announce the appointment of Mélanie Dunn, President and CEO, Cossette, and Chairman, Vision7 in Quebec, as Chair of the Board of Directors for 2018-2019. Ms. Dunn, who was a member of the executive committee during the year, succeeds Sean Finn, Executive Vice-President, Corporate Services and Chief Legal Officer for CN. The Chamber is also proud to announce that of the 25 members on its 2018-2019 board of directors, 15 are women.
“I am honoured by the trust the nominating committee members have shown in me in awarding this mandate,” said Mélanie Dunn, the new Chair of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal. “As a member of the executive committee since 2015, I have had the privilege of taking part in the discussions and decisions of the board of directors. I am tremendously proud to head up the board of a committed, credible organization like the Chamber, which vigorously defends the interests of its members and the city’s business community.”
As chair of the board for 2018-2019, and then as retiring chair of the board the following year, Ms. Dunn will play a strategic role in the Chamber’s senior management and will be a constant presence at events. She will also sit on the Chamber’s executive committee this year.
A highly accomplished businesswoman, Mélanie Dunn has over 20 years of experience in business management and marketing communications. She is the President and CEO of Cossette and a member of the executive management team of Vision7 International, a holding company with an extensive portfolio of communications firms in North America, Europe and Asia.
Ms. Dunn is actively involved in several professional and community organizations. She sits on the Board of Directors of the Canada Post Corporation, the Health Standards Organization (HSO) and of the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation.
