THE MISSION IN BRIEF
The number of Quebec companies exporting to Mexico has almost quadrupled since 2000. The boom that Mexico is currently enjoying—due to its growing middle class, major investments in infrastructures, the exploitation of its resources, and the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)—makes it a very attractive market that is ripe for development by Quebec companies.
If you would like to begin to take steps to export to Mexico, or if you are hoping to speed up your efforts on this territory, this mission will provide an ideal opportunity to explore the potential of Latin America’s second largest economic power, and give you a chance to meet partners.
This mission will allow you to take part in local meetings targeted to meet your needs, while benefitting from the support and increased visibility a group mission can provide.

WHY MEXICO?
Mexico’s economy combines the vitality of emerging markets with the structure and predictability of more advanced economies. The new government, led by President Enrique Peña Nieto, is committed to implementing several economic liberalization reforms that will be attractive to foreign investors.
Among emerging economies, Mexico is one of the countries with the lowest manufacturing costs. Among the country’s greatest assets are its young population, a growing middle class, and strategic investment in the development of its resources and infrastructures. Mexico is also becoming an increasingly important player in the aeronautics industry.
Mexico also represents:
- A country that will be among the top 10 global economies by 2020
- A GDP growth rate of 3.9% in 2012, projected to be 3.4% this year and in 2014, according to the IMF
- The second largest economic power in Latin America
- Quebec’s largest export destination in Latin America
- Canada is the 4th largest foreign investor in Mexico
