WHY PARIS ?
A world leader in the fashion and textile industries, Paris is a dream market for ambitious fashion companies aiming to globalize their business. Competition is strong but the opportunities often out-measure the drawbacks. The fashion track of this trade mission will include a two-day presentation in a Paris showroom, where participating companies will display their products and meet with prospective buyers. Through our network of trade offices and local partners, the World Trade Centre Montréal will aid participating companies in a program of personalized meetings with buyers and distributors.
Paris is an uncontestable fashion capital with centuries-old expertise in this domain. It remains today an important commercial center with thousands of buyers and journalists from around the world congregating there for collections that set the pace for global future trends. In France fashion is a very serious business with over 74,000 companies dedicated to fashion and textiles.
For Québec businesses in the fashion sector, the attractiveness, know-how and vitality of the Paris market are compelling reasons to establish a presence there. It is perhaps without humility but certainly with more than a grain of truth that Guillaume de Seynes, Managing Director of the Manufacturing Division & Equity Investments of the luxury house Hermès states that: "The only real achievement for a foreign designer is to have a fashion show in Paris." Paris is an important entry market to Europe and the world.
Participate in this mission to:
- Benefit from pre-arranged meetings with fashion industry buyers at a dedicated showroom
- Develop relationships with potential agents or local distributors
- Define your business development strategy in Paris, based on practical experience in the field
