A project carried out by JOBEL Art pour la Terre and RODEO FX

The figurative, emotional and informative immersion in the waters of the St. Lawrence will allow passers-by, as they walk through, to consider and visualize the river as a living element and a fundamental resource that is part of Montreal’s DNA.

The project in a nutshell

Walk, listen, observe, feel and learn: a multi-sensory experience awaits in the underground corridor of 1250 René-Lévesque Boulevard.

The creative imagination of JOBEL Art pour la Terre and the technological expertise of RODEO FX have joined forces to create an artistic, narrative and interactive installation inspired by the St. Lawrence River. The plants and animals that live in the river come to life with poetic visual content featuring dance and wall projections. The voices of the Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal (SMAM) professional vocal ensemble along the way represent the imaginary voice of the thousand-year-old river.

« The river’s biodiversity must be protected for current and future generations. We want everyone who comes through the corridor to have a moving and emotional experience, and to develop a new appreciation and affection for the river. ». — JOBEL

This multimedia work of art provides an opportunity to learn more about the river’s importance and the threats it faces thanks to a partnership with the David Suzuki Foundation.
