Context
The Transportation and Logistics sector is central to the daily lives of businesses and citizens, and it has been designated as an essential service during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even before the crisis, freight transport was already facing major challenges related to labour, fluidity, devoted space for logistics, innovation, and social acceptability. The rise of e-commerce during the pandemic has only intensified these pressures. At the same time, the move to a greener economy is also bringing about significant changes, including the electrification of transport, which is impacting the car industry, and, increasingly, the trucking sector. In the current context, the concept of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) signals a paradigm shift, with a focus on innovation and ever-smarter transportation.
