Before the pandemic hit the air transport industry, Air Canada was leading broad international expansion efforts, and Montréal had become a strategic of that unprecedented growth. Some 34 new international routes were added between 2012 and 2020, connecting our city directly to major international cities, such as Shanghai, Tokyo, Mexico City and Houston. In spite of the challenges the industry is currently facing, we intend to resume our position on the world stage and to continue making our metropolis shine. Our international network opens Montréal to the world and represents an important economic development tool for businesses that share our vision of becoming global leaders.
